Party Information Page

Welcome to the Parties Information Page.

If you would like to enter your party in the room party contest and have your party listed in the convention program book, you must register the party by March 9 to meet printing deadlines.

Whether your room party will be open to the public or just for friends, we ask that you register your party with the convention so you can be put on the party floor. Parties held on the party floor will be accorded a much greater latitude in terms of noise and traffic than parties not on the party floor. The party floor is on the same hallway as the consuite

Attention!! Party Contest!!

We will be holding a room party contest at Ad Astra 2006.

The winner will be voted on by Ad Astra attendees. Each attendee will get a voting ballot, along with a Party Passport that they can have as a keepsake to collect stickers or stamps from the parties they attend.

Parties will be advertised on our web site, in upcoming progress reports and in our program book. There will be information posted about the parties near the registration desk and info desk at Ad Astra. Of course there will be fabulous prizes, not to mention bragging rights, for the winning party. More details about prizes will be posted soon!

Rules:

  • All parties must be registered with Ad Astra to qualify
  • Parties must be open to all Ad Astra attendees to qualify. You may still of course choose to throw a private party, it just won't be considered for this contest.
  • Only Ad Astra 2006 members will be allowed to vote for the room party contest. This includes Attendees, Guests, Panelists, Staff, Con Com and Board members. There will be only one ballot allowed per person.
  • Party hosts are expected to follow and enforce the law. The legal drinking age in Ontario is 19. If you suspect someone may be underage and, please check their ID before you serve them. We do indicate that someone is of drinking age on convention badges, but it is not a foolproof method.
